France to start small enterprise bank end of 2012 for innovative real economy

The Public Investment Bank, which is the brainchild of French President Francois Hollande, is launched.
The investment bank is a holding of various entities specialized in both loans and guarantees for SMEs and innovative enterprises in strategic fields such as energy transition, digital, social economy and exports financing and in capital investment for these companies.
One of its services allows companies to apply via a regional one-stop-shop that will direct them and recommend the most appropriate tools. In this respect, the bank will be the equivalent of the Strategic Investment Fund for the requests regarding capital and of the state-bank OSEO.

La Banque publique d'investissement voulue par le nouveau gouvernement sera mise en place d'ici à la fin de l'année, ont indiqué dimanche le ministre de l'Economie Pierre Moscovici et le ministre du Redressement productif Arnaud Montebourg
Dans un entretien publié dans la soirée sur le site internet du Figaro, le ministre de l'Economie a indiqué que « François Hollande veut bousculer les rythmes pour qu'elle (la Banque publique d'investissement, ndlr) soit opérationnelle courant 2012 ».
